More than 20,000 objects from more than 25 collections of the University of Göttingen have been accessible since Monday, December 4,2017 via the new collection portal of the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen. The digitized works of art and specimens, instruments and models reflect the diversity of Göttingen’s collection landscape, which will be on display in the Forum Wissen in the future. All interested parties worldwide can call up and use well-founded information and high-quality pictures of the objects in the collection portal. The University of Göttingen is one of the first universities in Germany to make objects from its collections freely accessible digitally. The computer museum of the GWDG is also represented in the new virtual museum of science.
