According to the current state of knowledge, the login problems on windows systems were caused by the use of a specific network path to the NetApp mass storage system. The Windows logon profiles are stored on this NetApp system.

There are a multitude of possible paths in the network. The path actually used is determined by an algorithm that assigns a fixed path to each client computer. As a result, the failures occurred on some client computers only.

The problems in the network could be solved.
