NFDIxCS funded in the third round of the National Research Data Infrastructure

In the third and final round of calls for proposals for the National Research Data Infrastructure (NFDI), the NFDIxCS project is one of seven to receive funding. As a co-applicant of this project, the GWDG is thus successfully expanding its involvement in the NFDI. NFDIxCS, which receives funding for five years, pursues the overarching goal of “identifying, defining, and ultimately deploying services for storing complex domain-specific data objects from the breadth of computer science, thereby implementing the FAIR principles across the board”. In this context, the GWDG is particularly responsible for the areas of Persistent Identifiers, i.e. the permanent referencing of data objects, and Reusable Executable Environments, the execution environments for such data objects.
