Upgrade of the HOME File Systems to StorNext 6.4 and Migration to new File Servers

From Monday, November 23th till Tuesday, December 1st the file service environment of the HOME directories will be upgraded.
The upgrade consists of a software upgrade to StorNext 6.4 and a migration to new hardware components (file servers). Because of the deployment of new file servers the upgrade work cannot be done without any down times. In order to avoid a long down time affecting all users the upgrade will be be performed successively for each file system.
To stabilize the future file service all file systems needs to be checked.
This results in a longer down time for each file system, but it is absolutely necessary.
Please check on which file system your HOME directory is located:
e.g. on login.gwdg.de
ls -l ~username

Please make sure that your jobs will be finished before the scheduled down time. For each file system the down time will take place according to the following time schedule:

ZBHF start: 11/23/2020 8:00 a.m. end: 4:00 p.m.
MPG05 start: 11/24/2020 8:00 a.m. end: 5:00 p.m.
UNI05 start: 11/25/2020 8:00 a.m. end: 11:59 a.m.
MPG08 start: 11/25/2020 1:00 p.m. end: 7:00 p.m.
UNI09 start: 11/26/2020 8:00 a.m. end: 5:00 p.m.
UNI10 start: 11/26/2020 8:00 a.m. end: 5:00 p.m.
UNI06 start: 11/27/2020 8:00 a.m. end: 11:59 a.m.
UNI08 start: 11/30/2020 8:00 a.m. end: 3:00 p.m.
Some tests have to be done (no down time is needed): start: 12/01/2020 8:00 a.m. end: 5:00 p.m.
