NHR-Nord@Göttingen offers together with 4 other NHR centers (ZIB, ZIH, RWTH, NHR South West) a 2-day course on Data Management from 05.11. to 06.11.2024. This course will consist of various sessions that provide a good basis for the topic of data management and shed light on a wide variety of aspects. There will be a basic introduction to the topic, including the organization of workflows on HPC systems, including a focus on the efficient use of storage tiers. Then, the creation of data management plans using the Research Data Management Organizer, the extraction and handling of metadata and the integration of research data management systems will also be discussed. Finally, there will be a deep dive into the topic of storage systems, where the functionality of parallel file systems will be explained from basic concepts such as inodes and local I/O to efficient access patterns. Although the various sessions build on each other, it is also possible to attend individual sessions selectively.
