 +Since 28.04.2021 the entire University of Göttingen, including the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG), has joined the federal framework agreement of Microsoft's Campus Agreement. The contract ends on 30.04.2024. The associated large account reseller is SoftwareONE Deutschland GmbH, that already supports the [[msselect|Microsoft Select Plus contract]] for the university.

 +As the cost of the Campus Agreement is based partly on the number of employees and partly on the number of systems used, the following software is now available free of additional charge for any number of computers of the institutes and the administration:

 +"Windows Upgrade" means that you, if your computer is running a licensed Windows operating system (e. g., purchased together with the hardware, OEM license), may use a "higher" Windows operating system. So it is further necessary that you purchase together with your hardware a Windows operating system, a so called base-license (e. g., from the [[https://info.gwdg.de/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=en:services:it_consulting:hardware_purchase:start#dell_hardware_framework_agreement|Dell framework agreement]]). Therefore Dell offers an inexpensive "older" Windows operating system, that then can be upgraded together with the automatic software distribution.

 +In case you are using a macOS machine you can access the ISO server by pressing CMD+K while in the Finder.

 +For macOS only the Office serialiser which can be obtained from the ISO Server too but no KMS Server is needed.

 +===== Activation =====

 +For the activation of Windows and Office in the Campus Agreement the GWDG offers the use of a so-called  [[en:services:general_services:software_and_license_management:mskms|Microsoft Key Management Server (KMS)]]. The use of the KMS server is recommended.

 +If the KMS server can not be used in justified cases, then instead a MAK key can be requested by e-mail to [[support@gwdg.de|support@gwdg.de]]. The sender's address has to be one of the e-mail addresses assigned by the university or by the GWDG.

 +Students can obtain Microsoft 365 with Office as part of the Campus Agreement from 01.05.2021 via the GWDG customer portal:

 +  - Click //Activate for Microsoft 365 / Office//
 +  - Read the data protection information + terms of use and submit the displayed data protection dialog if you agree

 +Use is possible both locally (local installation of the software) and in the Microsoft Cloud. After the end of your studies, the licence may no longer be used. The licence is activated by your student e-mail address and the password you know, which you also use, for example, to log in to eCampus.
