Personal folders for MPG and GWDG staff and Windows group drives of the
university are managed by StorNext file systems. Some of these file
systems are organized hierarchically with potential outsourcing of data
on tape cartridges. To increase the number of free slots of the
tape robot, tapes were repackaged this morning leading to an unexpected
failure of the Windows group drives. Correction was possible only by
restarting the StorNext environment. As a result, personal folders and
UNIX HOME directories failed shortly. We apologize for the delays in
data access that occurred.
