Impact: service disruptions

On Wednesday, 25.01.2017, from 9 until about 11am there will will be maintenance work in the GWDG FTP server (ftp.gwdg.de). There might be service disruptions at this time.

Background:

Because of troubles with the networking subsystem we have to update the Linux-Kernel to a new major release on short notice outside the maintenance window. Sadly, this also forces an update of the whole operating system.
