As a security measure due to the current attacks on HPC data centers, the login by password on login.gwdg.de and the other login servers als well as HPC frontend systems of the GWDG will be shut down as soon as possible. Authentication can then only be carried out with a personal key pair. The private key should definitely be protected with a so-called passphrase, the public key can be added to the own user account in the GWDG portal. Assistance for the generation of key pairs can be found under connect with ssh.

For users who already work with a key pair nothing will change.
