GWDG at the 4th Night of Science on 26.01.2019

On Saturday, January 26, 2019, from 17:00 to 24:00, the Göttingen Campus will once again open its doors to visitors of all ages for the 4th night of science and present itself with numerous actions to the general public.

Science slams, lectures, join-in activities, guided tours, workshops, films, experiments and much more provide up-close insights into the diverse and exciting world of science. In 370 events on 25 locations throughout Göttingen, the participating institutions make research understandable and tangible to all age groups and interest groups. Admission to all events of the 4th night of science is free; all venues are connected by a free bus shuttle.

The GWDG will also be there and will demonstrate in the Central Lecture Hall Building (ZHG), Platz der Göttinger Sieben 5, how a twin can be found with the own selfie using data science methods. The experimental setup will be used to explain both technical details and suggestions for discussions on data privacy, data security and video surveillance (e.g. at railway stations).

We would be pleased about many visitors and wish much fun and interesting views at the 4th night of science.
