A formal ceremony was held on Wednesday, 26 April 2017, to officially found the office of the joint project DARIAH-DE. Since 2011 DARIAH-DE as national subproject of the European-wide project DARIAH-EU (Digital Research Infrastructure for the Arts and Humanities) has been developing a digital infrastructure for humanities and cultural sciences research in Germany with a total of 19 partners, including the Lower Saxony State and University Library Göttingen (SUB) and the GWDG.
The office is located at the SUB, which holds the overall administrative coordination, and at the IT service company DAASI International in Tübingen, which guarantees the technical operation of the research infrastructure. With the establishment of a central office, the organizational framework is created to enable the long-term sustainable operation of DARIAH-DE as an organization.
