Access to information is the key to progress and innovation. And the most important information is now machine-readable. The DFG-funded research project “AVefi”, in which the GWDG is involved with three other partners, is based on this fundamental insight and aims to automatically compare metadata from film collections at various institutions. AVefi stands for “Automated Network System for Audiovisual Holdings via Uniform Film Identifiers”.
