Time: until Rocket.Chat solves the issue
Affected: Users of the Rocket.Chat Client
Impact: Problems with automatic update of older clients

Users with older client version (2.x and older) may experience an issue where the client
suggests and offers download and update to a newer version but after a restart reappears
in the old version and starts the same process again. The problem is known to Rocket.Chat.
In the meantime a simple solution is to manually download and install the client in the
most recent version. Information for downloading the client are now included in the
service’s wiki page:
