Impact: Short outage of the service

Due to overload the service jupyter.gwdg.de crashed and restarted at 4.48pm.

The service is available again since 5pm. Regarding the amount of usage and the previous impoact notebooks have been restricted to 4GB RAM.

We are glad that our service is in high demand but recommend for more intensive applications, especially regarding scientific computing, the use of GWDG’s very capable HPC infrastructure, where among other applications a special JupyterHub is available (https://info.gwdg.de/docs/doku.php?id=en:services:application_services:jupyter:hpc).
